Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the preparation of technical reports, feasibility studies and detailed design documentation
  • Compiling tender documentation, specifications and accurate cost estimates
  • Managing all stages of projects, including budgeting, programming and stakeholder coordination
  • Administering contracts in accordance with GCC and municipal procurement frameworks
  • Providing technical oversight during construction and implementation phases
  • Reviewing and coordinating multi-disciplinary design inputs to ensure technical consistency
  • Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers and technologists
Experience and Expertise Required
  • The role requires a well-rounded professional with proven experience in:
  • General municipal infrastructure design
  • Project management and contract administration
  • Planning and implementation of water services infrastructure projects

Although the role encompasses broader municipal services such as roads, stormwater infrastructure, etc. the primary emphasis will be on water services infrastructure (incl. bulk water pipelines, pump stations, water - and sewer reticulation systems) and water resource management.

Key Requirements
  • Eng or B. Tech degree from an accredited University or University of Technology (minimum)
  • Professional registration with ECSA
  • 10+ years' post graduate experience in the design and implementation of municipal services infrastructure, bulk water and sewerage infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil3D or Civil Designer essential
  • Working knowledge of Infraworks, Storm & Sewer Analyses, iDAS or equivalent.
  • Exceptional report-writing, analytical and presentation skills in English
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in administering projects on latest GCC conditions
