Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join the Port Elizabeth team,

  • Oversee daily operations
  • Ensure optimal plant performance, productivity, and equipment uptime
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  • Monitor and manage production targets, KPIs, and turnaround times
  • Ensure quality control standards are maintained
  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations
  • Manage fleet operations where applicable
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers
  • Ensure accurate stock control of materials
  • Lead, manage, and develop supervisors and operational staff
  • Drive performance management and staff productivity
  • Prepare and manage operational budgetsMonitor and control operational costs (fuel, maintenance, labour, utilities)
  • Analyse operational reports and implement cost saving initiatives
  • Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to
  • Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports
  • Report on production volumes, efficiencies, safety statistics, and financial performance
Requirements
  • 5-8 years' experience in operations management within a manufacturing, or processing environment
  • Proven experience managing large operational teams
  • Must be willing to work the occasional Saturday
