If you are an ambitious engineer who wants hands on exposure, real accountability, and clear growth, this role makes sense.The RoleYou will provide production engineering support across the business, driving process optimisation, cost reduction, quality assurance, and equipment performance. You will work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to ensure manufacturing processes are capable, efficient, and repeatable.

Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Deliver cost savings (R100k p.a.) or minimum two line/process improvements.
  • Lead value stream mapping and material flow optimisation.
  • Conduct time studies, cycle audits, and manning validations.
  • Apply IE/ME techniques to reduce waste and improve efficiency.

Process Controls & Standards

  • Develop and maintain process documentation, setting sheets, and work instructions.
  • Lead FMEA and Control Plan reviews with cross functional teams.
  • Validate machine settings from pre production through first production.
  • Ensure robust handover of tooling, equipment, and processes to production.

Production Efficiency & Support

  • Provide hands on line support and technical troubleshooting.
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem solving sessions.
  • Implement standardised work and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Support uptime improvements through autonomous maintenance schedules.

Product & Change Management

  • Support APQP activities for new products and engineering changes.
  • Ensure ECRs and NPIs are accurately processed, communicated, and closed (>90%).
  • Verify production readiness before release of changes.

Reporting & Training

  • Prepare technical reports, procedures, and specifications.
  • Train production teams on new or updated processes.
  • Report project status and elevate risks timeously.

Qualifications & Experience

  • National Diploma or BTech in Industrial, Production, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment.

Technical Skills

  • APQP, FMEA, Control Plans.
  • Ability to read CAD drawings; basic CAD exposure.
  • MS Office; JDE advantageous.
