Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client in the automotive manufacturing industry, a leader in high-volume production excellence. They are seeking a talented Production Engineer with a valid Wireman's License to drive process stability, optimise assembly lines, and ensure electrical compliance in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimise production lines to ensure stable output, minimal downtime, and cost efficiency.
  • Manage day-to-day production processes, including change implementation, fault-finding, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Oversee electrical aspects of production equipment and processes (testing, standards compliance, preventive maintenance).
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, customer specifications, and relevant safety regulations.
  • Support project management for new processes, equipment integration, or engineering changes.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and planning teams to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • (With Wireman's License): Handle/approve electrical installations, modifications, and compliance on the production floor; conduct or oversee electrical risk assessments and preventive work.

Qualifications & Experience

  • BTech / Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Production, or Electrical Engineering
  • 2-5 years' hands on experience in high-volume manufacturing (essential).
  • Wireman's License advantageous (registered with Department of Labour / valid electrical installation certificate) - required for legal compliance in overseeing electrical production processes, equipment, and installations.
  • Trade test or artisan background is advantageous for practical production oversight.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing systems (ERP, CAD for layouts, data analysis tools).

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership of technicians/operators; excellent communication.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and production specific processes.
  • OHSA and electrical safety expertise.
