About the RoleAre you passionate about agriculture and ready to grow your career in farm production? We are seeking a dedicated and hands on Production Assistant to support our Production Manager in delivering high quality crop production and operational excellence.
As a Production Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day to day running of our farm operations. You'll assist with planning, coordinating, and supervising activities across multiple production sections - from planting right through to harvesting.

Key Performance Outputs Production & Operational Management- Coordinate activities including planting, pruning, fertigation, harvesting, and pest/disease control
- Monitor crop maturity and production targets
- Assist in planning and executing production schedules
- Support supervisors overseeing various farm sections
- Assist with staff coordination and performance tracking
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and work procedures
- Maintain accurate production and operational records
- Report on daily outputs and productivity
- Manage timekeeping and absenteeism documentation
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., Global G.A.P, SIZA)
- Maintain quality standards aligned to company guidelines
- Support implementation of best agricultural practice
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate
- Additional agricultural certifications (e.g., irrigation, scouting, plant production) will be advantageous
- Minimum 2 years' relevant farm production experience
- Practical knowledge of crop production processes (from land preparation to harvesting and maintenance)
- Solid understanding of horticulture and fruit production
- Knowledge of good agricultural practices
- Basic understanding of labour legislation, health & safety, and farm operations
- Strong leadership and team management ability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good planning, organisation, and coordination skills
- Analytical thinker with strong problem solving ability
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building capabilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Detail oriented and results driven
