The role

  • Provide first-line technical support to Electrum's clients via phone, email, and our ticketing system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Value Added Services (VAS) and payment processing, escalating complex problems to senior engineers as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal tools and automation scripts to improve support efficiency.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Document support processes, solutions, and knowledge base articles.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and knowledge sharing initiatives.
  • Gain exposure to the complexities of Value Added Services (VAS) and payment processing and transaction switching within the fintech domain.
  • Must be currently unemployed.
  • Completed a Software Engineering qualification at NQF Level 6.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for technology and a strong desire to learn and grow within the fintech industry.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to write basic code in at least one programming language.
  • Ability to write basic SQL scripts.
  • Basic understanding of software development principles and familiarity with at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, SQL). Exposure to databases and API integration would be advantageous.
