IntroductionCity Logistics is seeking a Procurement Officer who will be based in Durban.
YOUR CORE FOCUS AREAS:
- Issue requests for quotations, evaluate quotations, analyse results, and recommend suppliers in line with company standards.
- Process purchase orders and goods receipts.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Maintain procurement master files.
- Liaise with business specialists to identify requirements and secure products/services from specialist suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock, coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries, and optimize inventory turnover.
- Work within budget constraints and seek cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or reliability.
- Contracts and SLA's: Review of existing agreements to align with business. Updating SLAs. Assist with Supplier performance score card reviews. Compiling, reviewing and maintaining Supplier rate sheets
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 - Matric.
- BCom degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management (or related field)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis tools (advantageous)
- SAP experience is an advantage.
- Min 3 years' experience in procurement and Supply chain management.
- Great excel skills.
- Proven track record in a similar role within automotive, logistics, or supply chain environments.
- Experience managing direct operational costs.
- Good understanding of commercial vehicles, OEMs, franchises, and related suppliers in the automotive segment.
- Strong knowledge of commercial vehicles and fleet management expenses (fuel, maintenance, tyres, etc.).
- Understanding of contracts and service level agreements.
- Good attention to detail.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and excellent communication skills.
