Procurement Manager (Manufacturing / FMCG) (JB5889)

Muizenberg, Western Cape R35 - CTC per month Permanent

A fast-paced manufacturing business is seeking a commercially disciplined Procurement Manager to take full ownership of raw materials and packaging procurement to ensure finished goods availability and production readiness.

This is a metrics-driven, operationally accountable role focused on supplier performance, cost control, inventory accuracy, and forecast discipline. You will manage replenishment strategy, protect service levels, and maintain strong commercial governance while working closely with production and finance.

The role suits a structured, analytical procurement professional who understands manufacturing dynamics, thrives on accuracy and control, and can balance availability with working capital discipline.

Minimum Requirements
  • Proven procurement ownership within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
  • Experience managing raw materials and packaging procurement
  • Strong supplier negotiation and performance management experience
  • Strong understanding of forecasting, replenishment planning, and inventory control
  • High level of commercial acumen with focus on cost governance
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Experience working on ERP / supply chain systems
  • Strong reporting, forecasting, and data analysis capability
  • Detail-oriented with strong process discipline
Duties and Responsibilities Availability, Replenishment & Inventory Planning
  • Own replenishment logic and ordering cadence to protect service levels
  • Maintain category-specific Days on Hand and safety stock methodologies
  • Translate demand forecasts into procurement actions
  • Monitor forecast-to-actual variances and adjust proactively
  • Balance inventory availability with working capital targets
Supplier Performance & Cost Governance
  • Manage and track supplier OTIF performance
  • Drive corrective actions and maintain supplier delivery discipline
  • Maintain pricing governance and control Purchase Price Variance
  • Monitor pricing drivers such as FX movements, MOQs, and supplier increases
  • Support margin protection through disciplined cost control
Forecasting & Cashflow Management
  • Maintain procurement forecast accuracy targets
  • Produce and manage rolling cash outflow forecasts
  • Investigate planning variances and implement corrective actions
  • Support financial planning through accurate procurement reporting
Manufacturing Planning Interface
  • Ensure correct starting material availability for production
  • Align procurement priorities with manufacturing schedules
  • Track planning and production variances
  • Ensure accurate finished goods receipt reconciliation
Inventory Accuracy & Compliance
  • Own post stock-take inventory accuracy outcomes
  • Control stock adjustments and manage expiry/obsolescence levels
  • Maintain system integrity across assemblies, transfers, and manufacturing orders
  • Ensure procurement and inventory processes remain audit-ready
  • Maintain structured documentation and compliance traceability
Risk & Operational Delivery
  • Maintain supply risk coverage for critical SKUs
  • Develop contingency plans and backup supplier coverage
  • Ensure supply chain tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Escalate operational risks where required
