We have an exciting opportunity for Operations Process Controller. The purpose of this role is to monitor and control the safe and efficient operation of the Inpit Crusher and DMS Feed to deliver consistent, quality material to the DMS plant.

Job DescriptionAs our Process Controller your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Safety, Health, and Environment- Adhere to all health and safety practices requirements and promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance and an environment where team members can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
- Active participation in safety initiatives, i.e., SLAM, HPH.
- Conduct the required safety interventions before undertaking any tasks.
- Ensure a clear working area and the legibility and visibility of safety signs.
- Attend to spillage and dispose of spillage material to prevent contamination and pollution; keep a record of actions taken.
- Active participation in SLAMs, HPHs, relevant Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.
- Log and communicate shift events effectively to the incoming shift team.
- Execute start-up and shut-down procedures with the support of the PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) system.
- Monitor equipment behaviour via PLC, ensuring controlled process variables remain within designated parameters and tolerances.
- Achieve a balanced beneficiation process by synchronising material supply from diverse sources.
- Maintain flow balance in the plant, regulate auxiliaries' consumption, including process water and electricity, and control the ROM (Run-of-Mine) tempo to the beneficiation plant.
- Ensure the final ore product meets prescribed physical and chemical specifications by monitoring plant equipment and process variables.
- Deliver required chemical properties by adjusting equipment settings based on lab analysis reports and addressing unusual findings.
- Report and communicate equipment failures promptly, ensuring effective collaboration with all relevant team members.
- Share maintenance intentions and updates effectively with co-workers to ensure alignment.
- Assist the supervisor in delegating tasks to subordinates and partaking in supervisory duties as necessary.
- Prepare accurate production statistics to update the mine suite system.
- Guide operators in task execution and ensure readiness for maintenance procedures.
- Develop alternative operational methods during breakdowns in collaboration with the supervisor.
- Support the supervisor in strategic planning to minimise downtime.
- Regularly inspect the entire area for cleanliness and hygiene, employing specialised cleaning machinery.
- Perform cleaning activities beyond assigned areas to ensure visibility and fitness of safety signs and equipment.
- Sort and dispose of spillage materials in designated locations to prevent contamination.
- Ensure tools are cleaned and stored correctly in designated areas; assist co-workers in maintaining operational efficiency.
- Provide support to the supervisor and co-workers as required.
- Step in during the absence of the assigned personnel, ensuring continuity.
- Offer assistance according to your competence and per KIO policies, procedures, and guidelines.
This role is in the Processing (PRO) department on a band P4.1 level reporting to the Supervisor DMS Crushing A/B/C/D.
Qualifications- Grade 12/N3
- SA Drivers Licence
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in plant operations.
- Familiarity with pre-shift inspection procedures, radio protocols, and lock-out procedures.
- Understand the layout of the operation area thoroughly.
- Basic computer literacy.
