Process / Chemical Engineer
Job Description
A small, innovative consulting firm operating within the climate, water, environmental, and resource management sector is seeking a qualifiedremote part-time Chemical / Process Engineer, on a project basis to join its expanding technical team. The company focuses on delivering sustainable and circular solutions through projects that include water treatment, waste-to-resource valorisation, and the development of sustainability strategies for utilities and industrial clients.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical assessments, process modelling, and feasibility studies for water and waste treatment projects.
- Support the design and optimisation of chemical or physical treatment processes for waste-to-resource conversion.
- Analyse chemical, physical, and environmental data to inform sustainability and cost-benefit evaluations.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, proposals, and client presentations.
- Collaborate effectively with environmental scientists, economists, and engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
- Ensure all project outputs comply with relevant environmental, safety, and quality standards.
- Participate in virtual meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Process Engineering (Master's degree advantageous).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in water treatment, environmental engineering, process design, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in chemical process design, mass balance calculations, and/or waste valorisation.
- Familiarity with modelling tools is advantageous.
- Experience in technical writing, data interpretation, and preparing feasibility or design reports.
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Keen interest in circular economy and sustainability innovation.
- Self-driven with the ability to manage tasks independently in a remote environment.
- Prior experience in a consulting or project-based role.
- Strong coordination and collaboration skills across diverse disciplines and geographies.
