Permanent - Proposal Engineer - Ekurhuleni (East Rand) - South Africa

Location: City Ekurhuleni (East Rand), Province Gauteng

Reporting to the Sales & FS Manager

To prepare technical and commercial proposals, supporting the sales team with engineering expertise, and ensuring client requirements are met through accurate designs and cost effective solutions.

• Respond to all customer technical queries within 24 hours.
• Interpret client specifications and provide tailored solutions for mill liners, chute linings and related equipment.
• Assist sales team with technical queries, presentations and client meetings.
• Respond to customer complaints within 24 hours.
• Develop and prepare detailed technical proposals and quotations for mining and engineering projects.
• Log incidents and innovations on Sheqsys as they arise.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy of proposals.
• Check technical and commercial conditions with relevant managers to minimise the risk to the company.
• Complete technical proposal check list upon handover to Commercial Department.
• Follow up with sales engineers/clients to ensure all documentation is received and processed accordingly.
• Complete technical quotations and sizing within the customer's requested date.
• Ensure equipment is sized accurately and include technical conditions in quotations to minimise risk.
• Advise internal sales and clients on technical limitations when necessary.
• Visit sites when required to advise customers and submit quotations.

• 5 years relevant experience, preferably in a mining or engineering environment.
• Proven experience in technical sales or proposal engineering.
• Background in drafting and design as well as experience with site measurements and client facing technical support.
• Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Metallurgy).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor and related design software.
• Strong understanding of mill liner and chute design principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong planning and organisational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple deadlines, technically oriented and good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
