Job Description

We are looking for a People Administrator to join our team and support the day-to-day operations of our People (HR) department.

The purpose of this role is to support the effective day-to-day running of the People function by ensuring that all employee administration, coordination and processes are executed accurately, timeously and with a high level of care and discretion.

As a People Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle and enabling the broader team to operate efficiently. This role is best suited to someone who is detail oriented, organised and eager to build a long term career in People/HR within a fast paced, operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executing on various onboarding and off boarding processes
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HRIS systems
  • Keeping various trackers and employee information up to date and well maintained
  • Supporting payroll related admin and employee changes
  • Assisting with benefits administration and documentation
  • Processing and administering COIDA (Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases) documentation, claims and annual returns
  • Coordinating training sessions and maintaining training records

  • Keeping various trackers and employee information up to date and accurately maintained
  • Handling sensitive employee information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Supporting ad hoc HR projects and administrative tasks as required
Reception & First Point of Contact
  • This role is based at our reception area, where you will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, walk ins and candidates arriving at our offices. This is not a traditional receptionist role - the primary focus remains HR administration - however, you will be the face of the company for anyone who walks through the door
  • You will be responsible for welcoming guests warmly, assisting arriving candidates and directing visitors appropriately. Traffic is generally low, allowing you to focus on your HR work from this space. A private room is conveniently located nearby for any time you need to meet with or attend to an employee
  • This aspect of the role suits someone who takes pride in representing both the People function and the broader company - someone who understands that first impressions matter and approaches every interaction with professionalism, warmth and discretion
Requirements Qualifications
  • Diploma in Human Resources is a requirement, or studying towards a Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or a related field, with expected completion in 2026 (preferred)
  • Matric (Grade 12) required
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an HR/People Administration role
  • A strong interest in building a long term career in HR
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, hands on approach
  • A friendly, people oriented nature - someone who genuinely enjoys engaging with others
  • A professional and composed demeanour, with a strong sense of neutrality and confidentiality
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, tech and operational environment
  • Strong work ethics, flexible and prepared to go the extra mile
Skills & Competencies
  • Organisation & Time Management - Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Attention to Detail - Takes care and pride in producing accurate, thorough work, particularly when managing records, trackers and documentation
  • Communication - Clear and professional in both written and verbal communication, able to engage confidently with employees, candidates and visitors at all levels
  • Discretion & Confidentiality - Understands the sensitivity of HR information and handles all matters with the utmost professionalism and integrity
  • Interpersonal Skills - Warm, approachable and genuinely people oriented; able to make others feel welcome and at ease
  • Professionalism & Composure - Maintains a calm, neutral and composed presence - particularly important given the dual HR and front of house nature of this role
  • Tech Savviness - Comfortable working with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office and general digital tools and platforms
  • Initiative & Proactivity - Takes ownership of tasks, follows through without constant direction and looks for ways to add value
  • Teamwork & Collaboration - A team player who supports colleagues across the People function and contributes positively to the team culture
