Job Primary PurposeThe purpose of this position is to process payroll transactions. Develop, implement, and maintain controls on payroll submissions to ensure accuracy and completeness and timely processing.
Key Performance Areas- Process payroll transactions.
- Implement and monitor controls to ensure completeness and accuracy of all payroll submissions.
- Process Advance requests.
- Prepare monthly payroll reconciliations and third-partypayments.
- Effective communication and handling of all payroll-related matters.
- M+3 year in relevant field or Degree in Accounting.
- A least 4 years' experience in Payroll environment.
- Experience in payroll in Higher Education would be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of ITS and or other relevant Accounting & Payroll Software Packages.
- Knowledge and understanding of the value and importance of internal financial controls
- Sound functional knowledge of Payroll policies & processes
- Sound knowledge and understanding of SARS legislation
- Demonstrate ability to work on Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Provide clear and concise responses verbally or written to clients and stakeholders
- Ability to use payroll systems, & reporting tools such as ITS
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- People orientated, hard worker, responsible, reliable, creative and innovative.
- Respectful, honest, punctual and understand protocol.
- Proven attributes of transparency, integrity and teamwork.
