Overview

ADVTECH is seeking experienced educators as Subject Mentors. We are looking for teachers with proven IEB Grade 12 experience who are passionate about developing and supporting fellow teachers. The IIE's ACE has a vacancy for mentors with IEB experience (Schools Division).

Reporting

Reporting To: The mentor will report to the academic advisor.

Role Overview

Mentors will be assigned teachers to support throughout the academic year. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing mentorship in line with IEB standards.
  • Supporting teachers through pre and post moderation processes.
  • Offering guidance and professional support via scheduled Teams calls.
  • Working collaboratively to uplift teaching quality and assessment practices.

This is a part time, remote position with flexible hours. Mentors must be available to provide support outside of regular school hours when required. Remuneration is based on hours of work per month.

Minimum Requirements
  • A completed Degree (NQF Level 6 minimum) and PGCE, or a Bachelor of Education.
  • Employed or retired teachers with experience in the subject at Grade 12 IEB level.
  • At least 5 years' experience teaching Grade 12 at an IEB school.
  • Demonstrated, relevant IEB subject experience.
  • Willingness to mentor and support teachers outside of normal working hours.
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills.
