Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and proactive part-time Household Manager / Personal Assistant to support the smooth running of a private household. This role is suited to a highly organised, trustworthy individual who can independently manage property-related matters, coordinate with suppliers, and handle general household administration. Experience in property management will be advantageous. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to manage diverse household needs efficiently.

This is an Independent Contractor role, 4 hours per week (16 hours per month). Residence is based in Durban North, thus need to be accessible to the area.

Responsibilities Property and Maintenance Coordination
  • Oversee and coordinate general maintenance issues within the property, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and service providers to arrange household repairs, deliveries, and services.
  • Monitor completion and quality of maintenance work.
Household Administration
  • Manage household administration, including filing, scheduling, and record keeping.
  • Maintain organised digital and physical records.
  • Support general administrative needs of the household.
Event and Project Support
  • Assist in planning and organising family events, including logistics and vendor coordination.
  • Create simple visual materials (e.g., mood boards, invites) using tools such as Canva.
Errands and Ad hoc Support
  • Run ad hoc errands as required (shopping, collections, deliveries).
  • Provide flexible support based on evolving household priorities.
Confidentiality
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion always.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in household support, property management, or a similar role (preferred)
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Proactive, trustworthy, and adaptable to changing needs
  • Valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle (essential)
