Overview

The team leader is responsible for ensuring a brewery's products are packed correctly and made ready for distribution. They manage a team of staff involved in various packaging and warehousing processes, including bottling, canning, boxing, kegging and palletising. Run a shift when required; attend to after hours requirements on the line.

Responsibilities
  • Apply fundamental/situational knowledge of packaging equipment and processes
  • Manage shift performance
  • Optimize production team performance and processes
  • Perform packaging related administrative tasks
  • Manage and reduce waste on shift
  • Utility monitoring and optimization
  • Maintain a safe, healthy and risk-free environment on shift
  • Assist in autonomous maintenance and breakdowns on the line
  • Support and entrench the company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance
  • Inspire and motivate the broader SHP team (not just direct reports) to deliver on goals and maximize individual and overall company performance
  • Provide oversight and direction to your team
  • Recruit, develop and manage the performance of your direct reports
Requirements of the Role
  • Matric certificate or relevant equivalent high school diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Process Operator or Process Artisan on high speed packaging lines
  • Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
  • Excellent physical condition and coordination
