Full-Time Optical Assistant - Independent Practice (East London)

Salary up to £29,000 (depending on experience) + Bonus

This is a full-time Optical Assistant position where you'll play a key role in the day to day running of the practice. You'll be working closely with patients, supporting clinical workflow, and dispensing confidently across a wide range of prescriptions. This role would suit someone who enjoys building relationships with patients and takes pride in delivering proper service - the kind that keeps people coming back year after year.

• Welcoming patients and providing excellent customer care
• Pre screening patients and supporting the clinical team
• Dispensing spectacles confidently at all levels, including
  • Single vision
  • Bifocal
  • Varifocal
  • More complex prescriptions
• Helping patients choose suitable frames and lenses based on lifestyle and needs
• Explaining lens options, coatings, and pricing clearly
• Handling sales and payments
• Managing appointments, recalls, and patient records
• Supporting promotional periods and practice targets
• Keeping the practice clean, organised, and professional

5 days per week

• Monday to Thursday: 9:30am - 6:00pm (1 hour lunch)
• Sunday: 10:00am - 4:00pm (40 minute lunch)
