Job Description
Location: Prospecton, Durban Contract type: Fixed-Term Contract

Main purposeTo undergo accelerated training across various operational departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business, Graduates of 1-2 year program, rotating through functions in receiving, production, Quality and dispatch.
Responsibilities- Operational Efficiency: Identifying, implementing, and monitoring process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Production & Planning: Assisting with production scheduling, inventory management, replenishment, and raw material coordination.
- Performance Tracking (KPIs): Monitoring and analysing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as shift Manufacturing excellence effectiveness, and downtime to ensure targets are met.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Using Manufacturing excellence data to identify trends, analyse 4Ms man machine material and method, and generate reports.
- Quality Control (SHEQ): Ensuring compliance with safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) standards.
- People Management: Assisting with staff training, performance monitoring, and potentially managing shift teams.
- Logistics: coordinating with internal supplier updates, warehousing, and Pietermaritzburg branch stock supply, ensuring timely delivery.
- Problem solving: do focus board and A3 methodology problem solving
- Education: A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Operations Management, Production Management
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience; recent graduates are eligible, but previous internships or experience in manufacturing, logistics, or Automotive industry
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically strong Excel skills), and experience with ERP systems (Syspro) preferred.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong numerical and logical reasoning ability to interpret data and make decisions.
- Leadership: Ability to motivate, manage, and train team members.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues on the shop floor or in the supply chain and act quickly to resolve them.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with team members and management.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, including factory, warehouse, or on-site roles.
