OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER (12-Month Contract)

Salary level 9: R312,799 per annum (R228,321 + 37% in lieu of benefits)

Location: Head Office (Pretoria)

Purpose of the Position: To ensure that PanSALB's OHS Members and related Committees are informed of their OHS responsibilities, ensure smooth running of OHS activities, advise on OHS procedures and adherence requirements, and ensure that OHS resolutions are communicated to the relevant people and implemented timeously. The incumbent must also coordinate, plan, implement and monitor PanSALB compliance programs.

Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of Grade 12 (NQF level 4) and a 3 year National Diploma or Degree (NQF level 6 or 7) in an OHS qualification or equivalent. The applicant must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in legislative compliance or OHS experience. Experience in a supervisory role is an added advantage.

Technical competencies needed: Excellent communication, strategic thinking, influence and impact, project/programme management and administration, cost control, research and analysis, customer service, attention to detail.

Key Performance Areas: The successful applicant will be expected to perform the following tasks among others:

  • Facilitate compliance with OHS legislative requirements within PanSALB
  • Manage and maintain PanSALB's compliance program
  • Facilitate OHS Committee meetings on behalf of PanSALB
  • Manage budget and resources
  • Compile and manage reports
