Occupational Health Nursing qualification that is registered with SANC Currently registered and paid up at SANC The position involves travelling to all corporate stores in the region. A Company car and petrol will be provided. Key Responsibilities 1. Occupational Health and Safety Ensure compliance with OHS legislation and minimize Injuries on Duty (IODs). Inform Store Managers of any observed H&S issues during store visits that may pose risks. Analyse and verify IOD reports, monitoring the number and types of injuries monthly. Provide expert advice on IOD matters and safety procedures. Investigate trends or recurring incidents among employees and recommend corrective actions. Collate and submit monthly incident reports and statistics to the National Office on behalf of the General Manager. Advise on procedures following employee or customer/contractor fatalities. Monitor and ensure compliance regarding first aid boxes, first aiders, and medical waste removal. Review audit reports, H&S committee minutes, and OHP checklists to assess store compliance. Serve as a co-opted member of the H&S Committee (non-voting). Monitor the number and validity of qualified First Aiders and H&S Representatives. Ensure environmental risk assessments are conducted in line with OHS Act requirements. 2. Occupational Nursing Ensure risk-based baseline medicals are conducted for employees entering designated roles. Conduct exit medicals for employees leaving designated positions. Coordinate executive medicals as per company policy. Provide first aid and manage minor injuries when incidents occur on-site. Respond to customer medical emergencies promptly. Support managers with occupational health or medical queries regarding employees. Assess patients for primary healthcare and occupational health-related concerns. 3. Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Facilitation Facilitate voluntary counselling and testing (VCT) for HIV/AIDS. Organise and oversee Peer Educator training sessions. Coordinate Management HIV/AIDS awareness training. Follow up on training delivery and implementation in stores. Provide support to employees dealing with serious or chronic medical conditions. Act as custodian of the company's HIV/AIDS policy. Support and guide Peer Educators in their roles. Refer employees to relevant service providers (e.g., SANCA, AA, Lifeline, clinics, NGOs). Manage health-related absenteeism cases and provide appropriate interventions. Respond to trauma calls and arrange trauma counselling. Follow up with affected employees and stores post-trauma. Facilitate First Aid training and promote wellness initiatives aligned with the health calendar. 4. Administration Compile and submit the monthly Occupational Health Practitioner (OHP) report. Provide advice and documentation for disability and salary continuation cases. Coordinate medical appointments for disability applications and second opinions. Support employees with UIF applications due to exhausted sick leave. Collate and submit disability documentation to relevant stakeholders. Monitor budget spend and contribute to the OHP section of the HR budget. Oversee proper disposal of medical waste in compliance with legislation. Maintain accurate and confidential medical and occupational health records. Schedule and document regular store visits. Assist with public liability claim documentation. Core Competencies 1.
