About the role
We are seeking a National Utility Manager to manage and improve utilities consumption within the organisation in line with agreed policies and strategies, aiming to minimise environmental footprint and carbon emissions economically and sustainably. The role involves reporting variances to clients, supporting business units on utility matters, managing SLAs with service providers, administering utility billings to tenants, and reporting on utility income and expenses. The manager will also oversee staff, provide utility training, and ensure compliance with client and global standards in utility management. Utilities include water, electricity, gas, waste collection, and data consumption.
Inherent requirements for the position (non-negotiable):
- Engineering Degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering
- Minimum of 5-7 years experience in utilities management within a municipality or real estate portfolio
- Certified Energy Manager Qualification

- Investigating variances in utility usage and finances

- Collaborating with utility management providers and property managers
- Matching technical readings with site data
- Approving account variances and new building utility setups
- Managing monthly accruals and financial reporting
- Managing service providers and tenant billing processes
- Budgeting, forecasting, and financial management
- Procurement activities related to utilities
- Managing projects and staying updated on environmental impact factors and carbon footprint calculations
