Job Description

Lukhozi Consulting Engineers seeks a Mechanical Engineer or Technologist for their East London office. The salary is market-related and based on experience and qualifications. Applicants shouldsubmitCVs detailing relevant experience for the listed responsibilities

Requirements
  • Conduct condition assessments of mechanical installations andprovide detailed reports.
  • Plan, design, and administer contracts frominceptionto completion for building services and engineering projects
  • Compile and deliver comprehensive reports at all project stages, including Project Inception, Concept and Viability, Design, tender evaluation, progress, financial status, and project close-out.
  • Manage the day-to-day administration associated with active projects.
  • Design mechanical building services including HVAC& RefrigerationandWet Services, Liftssystems.
  • Design mechanical elements of water and waste water infrastructure projects, including pump stations, rising mains, and pipeline systems.
  • Design fire protection systems including sprinkler, hydrant, and hose reel installations.
  • PrepareBills of Quantities, Technical Specifications.
  • Administer mechanical engineering contracts and act as the Engineer's Representative as defined by the contract terms.
  • Provide construction oversight, ensure quality control, andfacilitatethe clarification of design-related issues.
  • Monitor construction progress to guarantee design adherence andquality andexpeditedesign clarifications as needed.
  • Address technical queries, resolve issues, and lead site and technical meetings, including preparing meeting minutes.
  • Review contractors' Quality Control Plans and Construction Method Statements to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Prepare payment valuations and measure mechanical installations.
  • Maintain frequent communication with all project professionals and clients.
  • Assistin resolving technical queries in collaboration with other stakeholders.
  • Support project safety and environmental compliance throughout the construction phase.
  • Undertake general office and project-related administrative tasks asrequired

Other requirements

  • Possess at least a B.Eng , B.Sc (Eng), or B.Tech Eng. Degree in mechanicalor mechatronicengineering.
  • Have between two (2) and five (5) years of post-graduate experience.
  • Demonstrate experience in the design and management of building services projects and engineering projects.
  • Have experienceinbuilding service projects, including HVAC,WetServices,FireProtectionand Lifts.
  • Be familiar with Building Information Modelling (BIM)software,such as Auto-desk Construction Cloud.
  • Be proficient in Autocad ; experience with Revit MEP isadvantageous.
