Job Description

Key Output
  • Carry out Scheduled services, maintenance, and repairs on Earthmoving Equipment on customer
  • Carry out Machine Inspections and Technical Analysis (TA's) on machines or components, compile
  • Efficiently trouble shoot and diagnose machine systems and carry out repairs to ensure optimal
  • Maintain professional image when representing Barloworld Equipment
  • Ensure safe work practice
  • Maintain and work according to BWE Contamination Standards
  • Ensure that the ultimate quality standards are maintained on the work performed according to OEM
  • Control own admin (labour booking, service reports, part returns, expenses etc.)
  • Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistent and sites or at Barloworld Equipment sites accurate reports with recommendations to the customers utilization and availability of machines standards accurately maintained
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
  • Grade 12
  • Qualified in relevant trade certificate (e.g. Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic) Red Seal
  • Minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience on Caterpillar machines.
  • Machine specific technical knowledge and skills on Caterpillar Equipment systems.
  • Good understanding of operation systems on Caterpillar equipment.
  • Must be able to read and understand Caterpillar equipment system schematics (Electrical and Hydraulics).
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good technical report writing
  • Basic business and financial understanding
  • Good command of Caterpillar SIS+ET
  • Good trouble shooting and problem-solving skills on Caterpillar machines
  • Applicable product knowledge
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office)
