Job Description

Key Outputs
  • Perform breakdown repairs and planned maintenance on earthmoving equipment to OEM standard
  • Effective troubleshooting on equipment and to carry out diagnostics using CAT ET
  • Effective time management
  • Uphold and maintain contamination control
  • Maintain professional image as Barloworld Equipment front line personnel
  • Compile accurate report on repairs, services, diagnostics and machine inspections
  • Carry out CAT inspect
  • Effective control of own admin (daily labour booking, accurate service reports etc .)
  • Provide customers with feedback during repairs and upon completion of repairs at customer's site.
  • Uphold and maintain QMS standards
  • To provide quality work on repairs and services
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Qualified artisan or Mechanic in relevant trade (e.g. Diesel mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment mechanic) NQF3
  • At least 3 years post Trade test
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of warranty systems, policies and procedures
  • Applicable product knowledge and technical knowledge
  • Customer orientated
  • Basic technical report writing
  • Basic business and financial understanding
  • Licence code B
  • Computer literate (MS Office and SIS, ET)
