Introduction

Are you a skilled and experienced Mechanic seeking an opportunity to further develop your career within a professional and dynamic manufacturing environment? We are looking for a results-driven individual who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and ensuring optimal equipment performance. As a Mechanic in our Garage, you will play an essential role in performing preventative and corrective maintenance on our fleet under the supervision of the Garage Foreman. Your contribution will directly support our operational efficiency by ensuring maximum vehicle uptime and reliability across our transport and factory operations.

Responsibilities
  • Execute maintenance and repair tasks: Carry out routine inspections, fault finding, and complex mechanical repairs on a range of vehicles, including trucks, forklifts (electric, diesel, and LP Gas), and company vehicles (Code 8 fleet).
  • Ensure compliance and safety: Uphold strict adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and internal safety procedures, maintaining a safe and compliant working environment at all times.
  • Promote continuous improvement: Contribute to the ongoing development of maintenance practices and processes, identifying opportunities to improve reliability, cost efficiency, and turnaround time.
  • Maintain workshop standards: Support the Garage Foreman in ensuring that the workshop is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Recognised Trade Test - Mechanic (minimum B grade)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Proven experience in forklift repairs (electric, diesel, and LP Gas) and maintenance of trucks and light vehicles (Code 8)
  • Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies
  • Strong technical acumen, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship
