Measurement & Performance Analyst (Retail Media) (Western Cape) - 2026/04/23 - Reference Number PEP-2546

To turn data into commercial impact. Shape the future of Retail Media. We're looking for a Measurement & Performance Analyst to own how we measure, optimise, and prove the value of our Retail Media offering. This is not a reporting role. It's a commercial analytics role at the heart of decision-making, working across suppliers, marketing, ecommerce, and executive stakeholders to answer:

  • What should we sell, and to whom?
  • Is it working right now?
  • Did it deliver real impact and what should we do next?
Responsibilities

Pre-Campaign (Insight & Planning)

  • Turn supplier objectives into clear, measurable campaign strategies
  • Build insight packs using customer, product, and historical performance data
  • Recommend audiences, placements, and success metrics
  • Track campaign performance in real time
  • Identify risks, pacing issues, and data anomalies early
  • Guide stakeholders with clear, actionable recommendations

Post-Campaign (Measurement & Storytelling)

  • Deliver credible, executive-ready performance insights
  • Go beyond reporting, explain why performance happened
  • Translate results into future strategy and optimisation opportunities

Experimentation & Measurement Excellence

  • Drive incrementality and test-and-control frameworks
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and measurement consistency
  • Shape how Retail Media performance is defined and trusted

Systems & Integration

  • Support the implementation and enhancement of Retail Media platforms and measurement systems
  • Partner with data engineering and tech teams to integrate data sources, automate reporting, and improve data flows
  • Help define measurement logic, data structures, and tracking frameworks within new and existing systems
  • Contribute to building a scalable, future-fit measurement ecosystem
Requirements
  • Business degree with Analytical/Commercial subjects (e.g.Computer Sc., Maths, Eng.)
  • 5+ years in analytics, performance measurement, or data-driven roles
  • Retail, ecommerce, or media network experience
  • Experience working with campaign, media, or commercial performance data
  • Ability to turn data into clear recommendations and business actions
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and external partners
  • A mindset that challenges assumptions and seeks better answers
Technical Skills
  • Advanced SQL (BigQuery preferred)
  • Strong data visualisation and dashboarding capability
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Media and performance KPIs
    • Incrementality and experimentation (test & control)
    • Campaign pacing and delivery mechanics
    • Awareness of data governance, privacy, and audit principles

  • Strong analytical judgement, especially in ambiguous situations
  • Structured thinker with clear, effective communication
