You'll step up as second in command on shift, prioritising under pressure, coordinating workflow, and serving as the first point of contact during after hours operations. What you'll do- Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and complex repairs on Epiroc drilling equipment in accordance with OEM standards.
- Validate and sign off critical repair and maintenance tasks, and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring failures.
- Provide technical guidance to Technicians and Assistants, ensuring quality, consistency, and professional shift handovers with complete technical updates.
- Serve as second in command (2IC) to the Supervisor, increasing supervision and visibility in critical work areas, and act as the first point of contact during after hours operations.
- Prioritise and coordinate on shift workflow, allocating tasks based on production impact, safety, and machine condition to ensure optimal use of time and resources.
- Ensure accurate completion of job cards, breakdown reports, component change out forms, and related documentation.
- Communicate professionally with the customer on equipment status, breakdowns, and repair progress, building strong working relationships with site representatives.
- Grade 12 and a recognised Trade Certificate - Millwright, or similar (Essential).
- Minimum 3-5 years of mining equipment maintenance experience in a senior technical capacity, with extensive exposure to Epiroc Surface Rotary Blasthole Drills.
- Advanced troubleshooting, fault finding, and diagnostic capabilities across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and RCS systems.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a valid driver's licence.
- Trimble High Precision GPS experience (Advantageous).
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities.
- Ability to work independently under pressure while maintaining Epiroc standards.
- Driven by continuous improvement, always looking for better ways to execute, troubleshoot, and lead.
