Mapping Geologist

Our client is seeking for a Mapping Geologists who will be reporting to the Senior Resource Geologist to collect and interpret data through on-site geological mapping and sampling to guide short-term mining operations, ensuring efficient extraction of ore and minimizing dilution by providing geological data to the production and planning teams.

A tertiary qualification/diploma in Geology from a recognized institution.

• A minimum of four (4) years of experience in open pit production geology in a mine setting with experience in sampling practices, grade control systems and reconciliation.
• Proven experience in using geological software and geostatistical data analysis tools such as Database, GIS, and Leapfrog or similar software, in particular 3D modelling.
• Strong understanding of geological principles and concepts.
• A good understanding of quality control and quality assurance protocols.
• Ability to interpret geological data and develop accurate resource models.
• Strong 3D interpretation and modelling skills.
• Demonstrated ability in the production of technical documentations and reports.
• Experience in exploration data analysis and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to verify and validate geological data.
• Ability to interpret geological information in 3D.
