Job Summary The Quality Assurance Consultant is responsible for assessing, monitoring, and assuring the quality, accuracy, and compliance of maintenance and repair authorisation activities conducted on behalf of fleet customers and AVMS-owned assets. The role ensures that all authorisation decisions, processes, and interactions adhere to approved mandates, fleet policies, risk controls, and operational standards, while supporting cost optimisation and service excellence. The role focuses on quality reviews, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement, providing feedback, guidance, and recommendations to consultants, team leaders, and management to enhance operational effectiveness. The Quality Assurance Consultant works collaboratively across teams to identify trends, mitigate risk, improve customer outcomes, and ensure consistent delivery against service, quality, and compliance expectations within the Managed Maintenance environment. Job Description Conduct independent quality assurance reviews of maintenance and repair authorisation decisions, ensuring adherence to approved mandates, fleet policies, risk controls, and operational standards Assess the accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness of authorised maintenance and repair work, including labour rates, parts selection, diagnostics, and flat-rate application Perform cause-of-failure and diagnostic validation reviews to confirm technical justification and prevent unnecessary or inappropriate expenditure Identify quality gaps, control weaknesses, and risk exposures, escalating findings and recommendations to team leaders and management where required Analyse trends, patterns, and recurring issues across authorisations, suppliers, consultants, and vehicle types to support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement Provide constructive feedback and guidance to consultants and team leaders to improve decision-making quality, compliance, and consistency Support cost optimisation initiatives by identifying avoidable spend, leakage, and opportunities for improved controls without compromising safety or service standards Ensure that turnaround times, service standards, and quality benchmarks are met within the Managed Maintenance environment Maintain accurate QA records, reports, and audit trails to support governance, audit, and regulatory requirements Contribute to the development, review, and refinement of policies, procedures, mandates, and quality frameworks Collaborate with operational, risk, and management teams to embed quality, compliance, and best-practice standards across the contact centre Monitor and report on quality performance metrics, highlighting improvement areas and tracking remediation actions Support the business during internal and external audits, providing evidence, insight, and subject-matter expertise Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Managed Maintenance Contact Centre Act with professionalism, integrity, and objectivity, maintaining independence in all quality assurance assessmentsEducation and Experience Required• Seven (7) years or more experience within a Managed Maintenance and/or Operating Leasing and/or Fleet Management Contact Centre environment• Experience in managing the maintenance of commercial vehicles• Red Seal Trade Certificate (Section 26D) as a Qualified Diesel Mechanic• Higher Certificate or equivalent NQF level 6 qualificationo Mechanical Engineering, Transport and Economics, Supply Chain, Business Management Studies Education Higher Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required) Absa Bank Limited is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer.
