Job Description

The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. This role is critical to ensure the operational reliability and safety of our facility, minimising downtime, and supporting production targets through proactive and reactive maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, relocate, and align new and existing machinery and heavy equipment according to technical drawings and precision specifications.
  • Execute scheduled preventative maintenance tasks on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent failures.
  • Promptly diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, performing effective and lasting repairs to resolve mechanical issues and minimise production downtime.
  • Dismantle, overhaul, and reassemble machinery. Fabricate or repair parts using machine shop tools when necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to all occupational health and safety standards and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
Requirements
  • Minimum national senior grade 12 matric certificate, or equivalent NQF qualification.
  • Tertiary qualification, Minimum N4 Technical certificate.
  • Qualified Millwright (Red Seal Certificate).
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of proven experience in a similar role.
  • Forklift Operator Licence would be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
