Maintenance Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join the Krugersdorp, Gauteng team,

• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies for extrusion and compounding equipment (single screw, twin screw extruders, pelletisers, feeders, dosing systems, downstream equipment).
• Ensure maximum plant uptime and equipment reliability through proactive maintenance planning.
• Manage breakdowns, root cause analysis (RCA), and permanent corrective actions.
• Maintain asset registers, maintenance schedules, critical spares lists, and maintenance KPIs.
• Provide hands on technical support for complex mechanical, electrical, and process related issues.
• Optimise extrusion and compounding machinery performance in collaboration with production and process teams.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new equipment and production lines.
• Work closely with OEMs and service providers for specialised support and improvements.
• Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team (artisans, technicians, planners).
• Ensure effective shift coverage and skills development through training and mentoring.
• Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, controlling costs without compromising safety or reliability.
• Optimise spare parts inventory and vendor contracts.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings through improved maintenance practices and reliability engineering.

• Minimum 5-8 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven hands on experience with: Extrusion lines and Polymer compounding processes.
• Must be willing to perform standby duties.
