Maintenance Assistant
Job Description
A vacancy exists for a Maintenance Assistant at Life Flora Hospital, reporting to Peris Naicker, Engineering Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining basic elements of electrical installations, electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, air conditioning systems, medical gases, plumbing, and building related items.
Critical Outputs- Conduct inspections of various equipment and installations found at a hospital facility as per the planned dates and provide timely feedback on problems identified
- Execute repairs as per job card issued to the individual
- Provide detailed feedback when tasks are completed and also when tasks cannot be completed in the required time period
- Conduct fault-finding and rectify problems experienced on hospital equipment
- Do basic systems settings to ensure continuous system availability
- Conduct tasks safely in accordance with the company's SHEQ procedures
- Minimum of Grade 12
- N5 in Electrical Engineering is desired for this position
- 2 years of maintenance related experience
- Proof of competency in the following fields: maintenance of electrical equipment, general building electrical maintenance, building related items
- Excellent communication in English and interpersonal skills a prerequisite
- Experience in dealing with customers
- Must be self motivated and disciplined
- Ability to work under pressure
- The candidate must have a good understanding of plant equipment
