Our client, a leading commercial law firm, is seeking an experienced and highly organized Litigation Secretary to join their busy Litigation Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned legal secretary who thrives in a fast paced environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional support to legal professionals.
ey ResponsibilitiesDocument Management & Production
- Dictaphone and copy typing of a wide range of legal documents
- Typing, formatting and collating notices and pleadings
- Incorporating amendments to documents and verifying accuracy
- Preparing resource, counsel and client files
Practice Management & Administration
- Diary management and coordination of appointments
- Managing telephone calls and tracking messages
- General office and personal administration support
- Strong organizational oversight of professional practices
Financial Administration
- Preparing pre bills and billing memos for client submission
- Managing debtors and liaising with accounts department on debt collection
- FICA administration and compliance follow up
Stakeholder Liaison
- Communication with clients, counsel, presiding officers, experts and service providers as instructed
- Building and maintaining excellent client relationships
Essential:
- 7-10 years' experience as a legal secretary
- Matric certificate
- Excellent proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Knowledge of Aderant Expert (CMS) accounting system
- Knowledge of iManage document management system
Advantageous:
- Secretarial diploma / legal secretarial diploma / paralegal qualification
- Knowledge of Standard Bank MyRoof
