Our client, a leading commercial law firm, is seeking an experienced and highly organized Litigation Secretary to join their busy Litigation Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned legal secretary who thrives in a fast paced environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional support to legal professionals.

ey Responsibilities

Document Management & Production

  • Dictaphone and copy typing of a wide range of legal documents
  • Typing, formatting and collating notices and pleadings
  • Incorporating amendments to documents and verifying accuracy
  • Preparing resource, counsel and client files

Practice Management & Administration

  • Diary management and coordination of appointments
  • Managing telephone calls and tracking messages
  • General office and personal administration support
  • Strong organizational oversight of professional practices

Financial Administration

  • Preparing pre bills and billing memos for client submission
  • Managing debtors and liaising with accounts department on debt collection
  • FICA administration and compliance follow up

Stakeholder Liaison

  • Communication with clients, counsel, presiding officers, experts and service providers as instructed
  • Building and maintaining excellent client relationships
Requirements

Essential:

  • 7-10 years' experience as a legal secretary
  • Matric certificate
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Aderant Expert (CMS) accounting system
  • Knowledge of iManage document management system

Advantageous:

  • Secretarial diploma / legal secretarial diploma / paralegal qualification
  • Knowledge of Standard Bank MyRoof
