Job Description
  • Quality Assessment
    • Oversee the regular execution of tests, grading and inspections on all purchases (grade, kernel percentage, moisture content, waste).
    • Validate the accuracy of testing procedures and results.
  • Monitoring and Process Control
    • Monitor each stage of the processing operation to ensure compliance with defined quality and operational standards.
    • Identify deviations and provide feedback to production management.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping
    • Collect, capture and maintain all data, grading records, test results and quality related logs.
    • Ensure documentation is complete, accurate and submitted timeously.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting
    • Analyse input versus output: quality, volume variances, trends, comparisons and deviations.
    • Compile regular reports for operational management.
    • Identify patterns affecting production efficiency and product quality.
  • Quality Improvement
    • Identify areas requiring attention or improvement and propose recommendations.
    • Support the implementation of improvement processes and corrective actions.
    • Collaborate with production to develop proactive strategies to enhance quality and reduce waste.
  • Training and Support
    • Train staff on quality standards, procedures, cleaning requirements and good production practices.
    • Ensure staff consistently and accurately work according to required standards
Qualifications
  • Minimum Grade 12 with Mathematics.
  • A qualification in Statistics, Quality Control or Food Technology will be a strong advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a quality control, food processing or similar production environment.
  • Strong computer skills with solid knowledge of Excel are essential.
  • Knowledge of statistics, quality assurance or process control will be advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail with accurate record keeping skills.
  • Ability to function effectively under high pressure or in fast paced environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Clear and professional communication skills.
