Job Description
The Department of Political and International Studies invites suitably qualified candidates to join their team.
All academics are responsible for disseminating knowledge (teaching and learning), creating knowledge (research), and engaging in community engagement, recognising differences in executing these responsibilities within the various departments and faculties. Academics are also expected to assume administrative, management, and/or leadership duties at the departmental, faculty, and/or university levels.
Requirements Lecturer- A PhD in Political Studies or a closely related discipline. Candidates who provide evidence of their PhD thesis being under examination will be considered.
- Some teaching and/or teaching facilitation experience is required. The incumbent should be acquainted with online/blended teaching, assessment, and marking, or be willing to acquire these skills immediately upon assuming the role.
- The ability to teach in International Relations and its sub-fields, and to foreground Africa in teaching.
- Supervisory experience with postgraduate students is required.
- Some evidence and experience in conducting research. Evidence of accredited published outputs would be an advantage.
- A PhD in Political Studies or a closely related discipline.
- Teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels is required.
- Experience in teaching in International Relations and its sub-fields, and an ability to foreground Africa in teaching.
- Relevant research supervision of at least a Master's degree to completion is needed.
- Emerging national profile in the discipline and a credible publication record in peer-reviewed publications.
- A PhD in Political Studies or a closely related discipline.
- Considerable teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Experience in teaching in International Relations and its sub-fields, and an ability to foreground Africa in teaching.
- Relevant supervision of Master's degrees to completion is required. Supervising PhD degrees to completion is an advantage.
- National and emerging international profile in the discipline and substantial publication record in peer-reviewed publications.
