Job Description

Role Title: Education Lecturer Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching

Campuses: Pinetown

Reports to: Programme Manager and campus principal

Nature of contract: Full or part-time

Main Purpose of the Role

Lecturers will develop modules, learning content and assessments and lecture on modules in the Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching from 2028. They will also assess work integrated learning.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Content Development
    • Standard B Ed Modules including languages (English, Afrikaans and isiZulu), mathematics and robotics for the Foundation Phase
    • Assessments
  2. Instruction, assessment and supervision
    • Teaching, assessment and teaching practice supervision
  3. Administration and student support
    • Support of students.
    • Gather and act on feedback from students.
    • Administration of student learning experience
Essential Skills & Competencies
  • Foundation Phase teaching experience of at least two years preferred
  • Two years lecturing experience on a similar B Ed preferred
  • Experience teaching in person and online
  • High levels of computer proficiency
  • Alignment with the curriculum requirements
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
Required Qualifications
  • B Ed MUST be in Foundation Phase teaching and an NQF 8 Education qualification
  • NQF 8 Education qualification with relevance to Foundation Phase teaching
  • Proficiency in at least two of English, Afrikaans and isiZulu
