Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, workshops, and practical sessions in Audio Post Production and on set Audio Recording and Sound Design.
  • Guide students in industry-standard DAWs and tools (e.g., Pro Tools, Dolby Atmos workflows).
  • Assess student work and provide constructive, timely feedback.
  • Supervise student projects, which may include in-studio Sound Design practicals and on-set Film Sound Design and Recording.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of SAE student experience and best practices.
  • Support academic processes, quality assurance, and institutional initiatives.
  • Facilitate learning in accordance with the learning outcomes set for the programmes taught within, with a focus on practical application, theoretical frameworks, workflow and technique.
  • Mentor students, conduct consultations and facilitate learning opportunities.
  • Keep accurate records of evidence (e.g. attendance, assessment results).
  • Adhere to SAE policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the HOA.
Requirements
  • A Master's Degree is preferable.
  • A PGCHE is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Pro Tools and post-production pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Dolby Atmos, immersive audio workflows, or advanced sound design.
  • Portfolio demonstrating audio post-production work (dialogue, Foley, SFX, sound).
  • Live Sound and Recording experience (Advantageous).
  • Facilitation of learning experience (Advantageous).
  • Proficient with industry-standard equipment and software.
  • Classroom management and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Ability to execute and facilitate the normal day-to-day demands of lecturing, lesson planning, delivery, assessment, administration, student support and review.
  • Possess outstanding communication, interpersonal skills, administration skills, be highly organised and possess good time management skills.
  • Ability to develop and conduct appropriate practical and theoretical assessments as well as teaching and learning materials pertinent to modules.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
