Tshwane North College for Technical and Vocational Education and Training invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for this fixed term contract position.
Requirements- Degree, National Diploma or equivalent REQV13 qualification with major in Drawing, Painting, or Graphic design, plus at least three (03) years of relevant experience.
- Teacher qualification is an advantage.
- SACE registration certificate.
- In depth knowledge of Art and Design subjects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong organisational, planning and administrative abilities.
- Ability to plan and deliver lessons and assess students effectively.
- Computer literacy.
- Moderator and Assessor Certificate will be an added advantage.
- Teach Art and Design across the curriculum, following QCTO Curriculum Instructions and the Teaching and Learning Plan Framework.
- Compile the POA, POE and Subjects as mandated by academic plans.
- Assist with recruitment, registration and induction of students.
- Facilitate general academic and career development of students.
- Prepare lesson plans and deliver lectures in compliance with the College Annual Academic Plan, the Campus timetable and the College Quality Management System.
- Assess students, maintain assessment records and capture marks electronically.
- Create a conducive classroom environment, manage discipline and maintain classroom management standards.
- Report to the Senior Lecturer and liaise with Student Support Officers to provide support interventions.
- Distribute textbooks and student packs and maintain records.
- Manage and monitor student attendance.
- Invigilate internal and external examinations.
- Participate in student extra curricular activities and promote holistic development.
- Embrace the use of the Learning Management System (LMS).
