This role will support both clinical trial activities and cutting-edge immunology research aimed at advancing our understanding of the Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) system, immune responses to disease, and vaccine-induced immunity. As part of a collaborative and dynamic research team, the successful candidate will contribute to a range of laboratory activities including HLA genotyping, T cell-based immunological assays, flow cytometry, and data analysis. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in immunology and molecular biology while contributing to impactful, translational research. Overview of Duties: Overview of duties: Support the day-to-day operations of the laboratory to ensure efficient execution of project-related experiments. Ensure that samples from collaborating sites are labelled and stored according to established protocols and that all the sample documentation is available and stored appropriately. Perform DNA extraction, quality control, standardization, and accurate sample labelling prior to storage. Conduct HLA genotyping using molecular biology techniques such as PCR and sequencing under the guidance of senior research staff. Perform immunological assays, including ELISpot assays, cell proliferation assays, flow cytometry, and other T-cell-based assays. Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date experimental records in compliance with laboratory and GCLP standards. Operate, maintain, and assist with calibration and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, PCR instruments). Conduct routine quality control checks to ensure consistency and reliability of experimental results. Assist with data analysis and preparation of reports to support ongoing research activities. Perform general laboratory administrative tasks as required. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related field. Minimum Experience: At least 2 years of research experience, preferably in molecular biology, immunology, or a related discipline. Experience with HLA typing methods (e.g., PCR, library preparation, sequencing) and immunological assays such as ELISpot, cell proliferation assays, and flow cytometry is advantageous. Knowledge of Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) and experience with laboratory inventory management will be considered an asset.
