Job Description

Our client based in Rosebank is looking for an experienced Junior Project Manager on a 6 month fixed term contract. The appointed Junior Project Manager will provide dedicated senior programme administration, coordination, governance, and reporting support across the programme and its associated workstreams. The role requires an experienced programme support resource who can operate with a high degree of independence, work confidently across multiple workstreams, engage senior stakeholders, and maintain disciplined follow through across programme forums, governance routines, and delivery activities. The role will function as an embedded programme support capability, with responsibility for enabling delivery execution, strengthening governance discipline, maintaining integrated coordination, and ensuring reporting continuity across the programme. The resource will be expected to support the programme leadership team by ensuring that programme information is accurate, complete, current, and available for decision making, escalation, and governance review. A key feature of the role is the use of the Project Portfolio Office to support centralised project reporting. The Junior Project Manager will be expected to coordinate inputs from workstreams, maintain reporting discipline, follow up on incomplete or overdue updates, support data quality, and ensure that programme level reporting reflects the current status of deliverables, risks, issues, dependencies, actions, decisions and milestones.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Matric
  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Systems, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A recognised Project Management certification or short course, such as CAPM, PRINCE2 Foundation, Agile fundamentals, or equivalent practical training.
  • A minimum of five to seven years' experience supporting project or programme administration within complex transformation, technology, payments, financial services or operational change environments.
  • Experience supporting senior stakeholders, governance forums, project reporting and multi workstream delivery environments.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
  • Competence in maintaining trackers, preparing meeting packs, consolidating reports, managing document repositories, applying version control and supporting programme planning tools such as Microsoft Project, Planner, SharePoint or equivalent platforms.
Senior Programme Administration and Delivery Coordination:
  • Provide structured administration and coordination support across the programme and its workstreams.
  • Maintain programme routines, trackers, calendars, artefact repositories and working documents in a manner that supports delivery discipline, management oversight and timely execution.
Programme Governance Coordination:
  • Coordinate governance forums, programme meetings, steering inputs, workstream sessions and decision making routines.
  • Prepare agendas, consolidate packs, record decisions and actions, circulate outputs and ensure that follow ups are tracked through to closure.
Project Portfolio Office Centralised Reporting Support:
  • Support centralised project reporting through the PPO by coordinating reporting inputs, maintaining data quality, following up with workstream owners, updating agreed reporting fields and ensuring that programme information is accurate, complete and submitted within required reporting timelines.
Integrated Status, Action, Risk, Issue and Dependency Management:
  • Maintain integrated trackers for actions, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, milestones and deliverables.
  • Proactively follow up with owners, identify overdue or incomplete updates and escalate items requiring management attention.
Programme Planning and Milestone Support:
  • Support the maintenance of integrated programme plans, milestone views, workstream schedules and delivery calendars.
  • Assist with tracking upcoming deliverables, governance deadlines, dependency dates and key programme commitments.
Senior Stakeholder Coordination:
  • Engage with programme leadership, workstream leads, internal teams, suppliers and relevant stakeholders to coordinate inputs, resolve administrative blockers, obtain updates and support clear communication across the programme.
Management Reporting and Governance Pack Preparation:
  • Support the preparation and quality review of programme status reports, dashboards, governance packs, management updates and decision papers.
  • Ensure that reporting content is consistent, evidence based and aligned to the centralised PPO reporting process.
Document Control and Programme Artefact Management:
  • Maintain programme documentation in the agreed repository, apply version control, ensure naming conventions are followed and support traceability of key artefacts, approvals, minutes, decisions and sign offs.
Procurement, Onboarding and Supplier Administration Support:
  • Support administrative activities linked to supplier onboarding, purchase order tracking, timesheet follow up, invoice support and confirmation of deliverable sign offs where required by the programme.
Quality, Compliance and Governance Discipline:
  • Support the programme team in ensuring that governance records, approvals, meeting outputs, reporting inputs and supporting documents are complete, traceable and aligned with applicable internal processes.
