Responsibilities
  • Operate and assist in the steam distillation of plant materials.
  • Perform physical tasks including the weighing, loading, and moving of raw materials.
  • Conduct local driving to various processors for the collection and delivery of plant material (a valid driver's licence and own transport are required).
  • Perform basic and proactive maintenance on equipment; identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Assist with the operation and monitoring of boilers and related distillation equipment.
  • Adhere strictly to all company health, safety, and food safety protocols.
  • Work collaboratively within a team and demonstrate a strong willingness to learn new skills.
Qualifications
  • A strong mechanical aptitude and maintenance background (experience with boilers or distillation is highly advantageous).
  • Welding skills are a distinct advantage.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual labour in a production environment.
  • Valid driver's licence and own, reliable transport.
  • Fluency in both Afrikaans and English.
  • A proven "hard worker" with a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to be trained in, food safety protocols (e.g., FSSC).
  • A valid forklift licence is highly beneficial.
  • A Professional Driving Permit (PDP) is highly beneficial.
