Job Description
The position offers the ideal opportunity for individuals to gain experience within a small team environment. The Inspector has the specific deliverable of ensuring compliance to all relevant procedures, protocols, work instructions and Service Level Agreements within a defined geographical area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Applying roles in Inspection, Cold Chain, Food Safety and Export Certification related to the specified geographical area.
- Coordinating compliance to prescribed processes, procedures and protocols within the framework of the Agricultural Product Standards Act.
- Ensuring adequate competency levels within the Harmonization framework.
- Inspection and certification of perishable products.
- Inspection of the handling, storage and transport of perishable products.
- Coordinating compliance to prescribed processes, procedures and protocols within the framework of the Perishable Products Export Control Board Act.
- Ensure correct application of quality management systems, procedures and work instructions.
- Ensure adherence to Service Level agreements.
- Ensuring effective two-way communication internal and external.
- Administrative tasks and reporting related to the execution of services.
- Accept the responsibility of continuous self-improvement in their area of responsibility according to the PPECB performance system.
Job Requirements
- A National Diploma in Agriculture or related field of study
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of all inspection services relevant to the specified geographical area.
- Citrus competency will be required.
- Practical experience, theoretical knowledge or exposure in Stone fruit would be advantageous.
- Experience in various cold chain functions related to the specified geographical area, in particular container loadingwill be advantageous
- Operational planning; training and organizing skills.
- Experience on Titan 2.0 will be advantageous.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and / or with minimum supervision
- Proven track record of taking ownership enabled by responsible and accountable behavior.
- A valid code 08 driving license and own reliable vehicle are inherent requirements of the job
