Junior Field Guide

Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience (live-in)

A luxury lodge in the scenic Cederberg region is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible Junior Field Guide to join its team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about nature, wildlife and guest experiences, who is eager to grow their guiding career within a professional hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior guides with daily guest activities and guided experiences.
  • Lead nature walks and deliver interpretive talks on local flora, fauna and geology.
  • Ensure guest safety during all outdoor activities.
  • Prepare equipment and vehicles for guiding activities.
  • Provide friendly, professional interaction with guests at all times.
  • Support conservation awareness and environmental education initiatives.
  • Assist in Front of House when not engaged in guiding activities.

Requirements

  • Relevant guiding qualification or currently studying towards one.
  • Passion for nature, wildlife and conservation.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills.
  • Friendly personality with a guest service mindset.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • PDP.
  • First Aid certification.
