Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-driven Junior Engineer to provide technical support to their production teams and contribute to ongoing engineering and process improvement projects in Philippi, Cape Town

Minimum Qualifying Criteria
  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
  • 2-5 years' relevant experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Roles and Responsibilities Process & Technical Support
  • Support the setup, maintenance, and optimisation of production processes
  • Monitor and analyse operations to identify trends and propose improvements
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime
  • Assist in training technical teams on process best practices and tool usage
  • Ensure production reliability and conformance to quality and safety standards
  • Document technical changes, maintenance, and outcomes effectively
Inventory & Resource Management
  • Monitor stock levels of technical supplies and equipment
  • Coordinate purchasing of tools and components as needed
Project Involvement
  • Participate in engineering projects, process upgrades, and the implementation of new technologies or software
  • Support technical teams with data collection, testing, and reporting
Health, Safety & Quality Compliance
  • Enforce and adhere to company safety standards and the OHS Act
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within work areas
  • Apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and comply with the FSSC 22000 food safety system

  • Continuously develop knowledge of technical innovations in the plastics industry
  • Conduct self assessments and pursue learning opportunities
  • Promote teamwork, self leadership, and positive interpersonal relationships
