Job Description

We are urgently recruiting for a Junior Accountant role, based in Durban on a 3-month contract. Our client is looking for resources to assist their finance department with the quantification of all Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Preferential Procurement Regulations (PPR) violations, as the organisation wraps up its financial year-end.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the finance department with completing the testing of payments made in 2025-26 financial year to identify, quantify, and disclose PFMA violations using PFMA compliance procedures on the PFMA register.
  • Address all outstanding actions in the PFMA remedial plan.
  • Perform any other PFMA compliance and reporting obligations.
Qualifications and Experience Required
  • Accounting Degree (with majors in auditing and accounting) and/or Btech Internal Audit
  • At least 1 year's relevant experience in quantifying irregular expenditure at government (including audit of supply chain management)
