JHB Ops Planner (Linehaul / Horse & Trailer)

Our Johannesburg branch based in Kempton Park is looking for an experienced JHB Ops Planner.

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Must have experience in Excel, Work, Outlook & Microsoft Office
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Problem Solving Skills
• Must be reliable and punctual
• Strong organisational and planning skills, such and shift handover plans and execution.
• Vehicle and Fleet knowledge.
• 3 to 5 years operational distribution management experience required
• Must have own reliable transport

You are tasked with and responsible for, but not limited to, performing the following duties as Operations Planner. All performance appraisals and disciplinary enquiries will be based upon, but not limited to these:

• Follow all reasonable and legal instructions given to you by Senior Management
• Be polite, respectful and courteous to everyone you come into contact with
• Never respond aggressively or rudely, even if provoked
• Lead and motivate the Horse & Trailer Team to ensure that they perform efficiently and productively.
• Provide training for all Code 14 staff
• Arrange regular meetings with the Operations Team & Drivers to motivate, train and get feedback on issues experienced.
• Supervise and monitor the daily activities of all drivers related to trailer drops and collections.
• Manage POD return for Code 14 deliveries and returns.
• Ensure that a proper and accurate Linehaul handover is done daily between Dayshift and Nightshift
• Disciplining of the staff in your section related to code 14 drivers.
• Supervise and monitor the performance of Staff members within your section.
• Ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly reports compiled are accurate and submitted on time.
• Ensure that all staff members are wearing full uniform every day.
• Assist the Customer Service Department with requests and queries to ensure overall Customer satisfaction.
• Always maintain a level of courteous professionalism in all communication and correspondence with Clients, Agents and Staff members.
• Monitor Code 14 Over time and kept to a minimum.
• Ensure ERS is completed daily for Code 14.
• Ensure 3rd Party Linehaul liaison and booking.
• Asses volumes and arrange linehaul vehicles.
• Monitor and control Linehaul expenses and billings.
• Assist night shift after hours with additional vehicle, cancelations and re-planning.
• Arrange direct loads for on site loading - JHB Depot, In-Houses , Adhoc clients.
• Interdepartmental communication flow.
• Familiarize yourself on Retail division operations & bookings.
• Any reasonable work related instruction from management.
