A great career opportunity exists at CyberPro Consulting for an experienced Senior Project Manager (Information Technology). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, followed by a successful transition into project management.
This role is Cape Town-based (preferred) and involves delivering technology solutions for clients across various industries, including Financial Services.
Develop project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, resources, and budget.
Lead project teams to execute plans effectively, ensuring milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
Monitor and report on project progress, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal teams, and third-party vendors.
Communicate project updates, risks, and issues clearly and timeously.
Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Allocate and manage resources effectively to ensure efficient project delivery.
Coordinate with internal teams and management to assign appropriate resources.
Manage resource conflicts and resolve issues during project execution.
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Proactively manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
Implement quality assurance processes to validate outcomes.
Develop and manage project budgets and track expenses.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Provide leadership and direction to project team members.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Motivate teams to achieve project goals and overcome challenges.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
Conduct post-project reviews and apply lessons learned.
IT Degree or Diploma.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years' experience in the IT industry, with at least 5 years focused on software development.
Proven knowledge of system development lifecycle processes from concept to deployment.
Experience in Financial Services or Insurance industry is advantageous.
Experience working with stakeholders across different organisational levels (onshore and offshore).
Experience applying industry-standard project management methodologies.
Experience working in Agile environments, with strong knowledge of Scrum preferred.
Experience using JIRA and Confluence.
Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in project management tools and software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced MS Office skills.
Agile and Scrum tools experience (JIRA, JIRA Portfolio, Confluence).
Facilitation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong financial and business acumen.
Understanding of architectural considerations and system implications.
Ability to assess project impact based on systems, processes, and business requirements.
