JOB PURPOSE

The IT Electrical Technician provides technical support, installation, maintenance, and repair services for IT systems, electrical infrastructure, energy metering equipment, and related technologies. This role ensures operational reliability of electrical and general IT Supports Systems.

This includes providing technical support and expertise in metering operations, system design, installation, management, and ongoing maintenance of metering systems.

Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
  
• Technical Diploma or Certificate, in Electrical Engineering, IT, ComputerSystems, or a related technical field.
  
• Driver's License & Own reliable Car (Compulsory)
  

Required Experience:

• 3-5 years' experience ofgeneral IT Support Experience
  
• 3-5 years' experience withnetwork troubleshooting and configuration.
  
• 3-5 years' experience inmetering, electrical distribution, or related fields
  
• Proven experience inIT support, electrical maintenance, and/or metering systems. Familiarity withNRS standards (NRS 071, NRS 057) and relevant SANS/IEC standards
  

Required Knowledge:

• In-depth knowledge of Software, hardware,configuration and networking systems.
  
• Proficient with IT diagnostic tools and remotesupport software.
  
• Strong understanding of metering technologies,CT/VT installations, and communication protocols
  
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiringdiagrams, and technical documentation
  
• Proficiency in fault finding, diagnostics, andsystem restoration
  
• Competence in data analysis, reporting, andmetering software tools
