Our client in the financial advisory and healthcare solutions industry based is seeking to employ an Internal Advisor to join their team based in Kloof, Durban. The Internal Advisor provides advanced technical and administrative support to financial advisors and their clients. The role focuses on developing financial plans, preparing investment and risk recommendations, conducting technical research, and supporting portfolio reviews to ensure optimal client outcomes and regulatory compliance.

Requirements:
  • Relevant Degree
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning (completed or in progress)
  • Strong client service communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organising and planning ability
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • High accountability and professionalism
  • Willingness to pursue continuous professional development
  • Ability to operate in a paperless and digital work environment
Responsibilities, but not limited to: General
  • Prepare client review schedules
  • Prepare proposals and Records of Advice (ROA)
  • Assist with review meeting preparation and documentation
  • Draft meeting minutes
  • Prepare new business reports
  • Support estate planning processes
  • Support portfolio rebalancing activities
  • Manage workflow of advisory assistants
Administration and Technical Support
  • Prepare Records of Advice for local and offshore investments and long term assurance products
  • Develop financial plans covering:
    • Death benefits
    • Disability cover
    • Retirement planning
    • Estate planning
  • Conduct investment portfolio and fund research to support recommendations
  • Analyse client investment and risk product portfolios
  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure all recommendation paperwork aligns with deal sheets and compliance requirements
  • Investigate new product opportunities, structures, and investment strategies
  • Provide technical support to administrators, clients, and planners
  • Maintain ongoing client communication and follow ups
Practice Management
  • Participate in advice forums and investment sub committees as technical liaison
  • Support governance and advisory processes
Office Contribution
  • Mentor and support administrative team members
  • Promote knowledge sharing and professional development
