Job Description

The role of Africa Infrastructure Risk Manager is to own all the IT infrastructure that is used to support the business in their risk management processes and ensure that these processes

adhere to policy and practises of the business.

As Infrastructure Risk Manager you should be involved at global, regional and country specific level to support and enhance all EY tools

and processes associated directly and indirectly with risk management function. It is important to establish a close working relationship with Service Line Quality, General Councils

Office, Regional Risk Network and the Regional GCO network. This in addition to working closely with the Global Risk Management Team.

Essential Functions of the Job

The Africa Infrastructure Risk Manager will report directly into the Africa Regional Risk Management Leader. The role consists of a strategic and an operational component and the essential functions are as follows:

Strategic role

Project Management: Local special projects, Africa strategic Regional projects, Global deployment of risk management enablers and roll out of ERP platform (Mercury).

QMS Quarterly: Questionnaire Management System customisation occur on a quarterly basis. This allow for improvements to be made to the Client and Engagement risk management

Reporting: Prepare monthly and annual Africa statistical tracker for the Client and engagement risk management enabler.

Operational role

Daily: Resolving daily queries raised by the business on (PACE, GIS, AML, Mercury)

Training: Collaborate with Service Line Quality and Train the business on the Client and Engagement acceptance process (PACE)

Administration: Administer the PACE Tool

Reporting: Adhoc reporting requirements from the SLQ

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

In-depth knowledge of risk management is critical to the success of this role. Furthermore, a strong aptitude for the understanding of IT systems and process flows is a must. The infrastructure risk manager must have a strong desire to know more about EY's internal business functions and seek to understand how risk management influences these functions. A strong foundation of knowledge is needed on the different EY policies that govern the risk management process. The infrastructure risk manager must have strong communication and negotiating skills to drive the agenda of compliance and adherence to the policies with in the service line. Project management skills is of critical importance to this role, as many of the engagements or deployments of tools will require the infrastructure risk manager to play a leading role. The infrastructure risk management must be able to apply his/her mind to complex situations and have a solution-based approach to problems identified. Change management is a vital skill that the infrastructure risk manager must poses along with the ability to manage the risk the change will impose on the EY business.

Education

CMA/CGMA with the Institute of CIMA

Experience

A minimum of 5 years risk management experience is needed if the individual is external to EY.

A minimum of 5 year working with in EY working as Service Line Quality is needed to fulfil the requirements of this role.

A minimum of 3 years working with in the service line and 2 year working as operations, finance or SLQ is needed to meet the demand this role places on the individual.
